OK, Maybe $1,000 IS Too Much…

Last night, while I was working on the mini-site I started asking my girlfriend questions about my contest and she… shut me down. 😦 It was a good kind of shutdown though. People close to me know I can get really excited and let ideas spin out of control without having someone put them in check (I just wish she put this one in check a day earlier. lol)

Her stance was that $1,000 is A LOT of money, $500 or even $100 was more than enough. My internal stance was that $1,000 was nothing since I was willing to pay a lot more. Back to the drawing board…

Social Media Math

It’s tricky figuring out how to best setup a social media marketing campaign. It’s really easy to fall into the trap of “just throw a bunch of money at it,” but often that isn’t the best way. In my mind the $1,000 was to show how much I appreciated a person’s help with finding my dream job. On the other hand being offered money for something you’d gladly do for free to help a friend can tarnish the whole thing. 😛

Anyhow, I’m going to take my time putting this together, make sure I get girlfriend clearance and launch everything on Monday. Whatever I do, the plan is to get my resume website into the hands of someone that has “my dream job.” I really like working on projects like this. 😀

If any of you social media mathematicians end up reading this, how would you set this up?

We’ll see how this turns out on Monday. 🙂

I think it’s all a matter of scale, but for you and in this case I agree 🙂
