Hong Kong

First off, I let my camera at home :P.  Oops!  Ah well, I guess I’ll need to get photos next time.

The transition from the Airport to your hotel is a very smooth one in Hong Kong.  There’s a speed train straight intot he city and then free buses that go to the different hotels (well, some of them at least, mine included.)

I spent a lot of time today just walking around the city (we’re in Kowloon.)  It felt like a big cleaned up version of Taipei to me.  Except I didn’t know where anything was, so it was a little boring.  If you like shopping, there are TONS of shops here.  I-Ping had a good time exploring the different clothing stores, so at least one of us enjoyed all the shops.

I came for the BJJ and that goes down tomorrow.  I guess we’ll also be hitting up HK Disney Land on Sunday, which should be fun.  They should at least have some video games up and other shit like that kids likeup in there.

I went to HK about a month after they opened the new airport and there were still tons of newspaper articles whining about all the problems with the new airport. I was pleasantly surprised how fast everything went and it literally took only about 20 minutes from getting off the plane to arriving at my hotel.

Good luck. You’ll have to write about it since you won’t have any pics to show us.

Yeah, I left HK a little over a month after the airport opened, and trust me, there were good reasons behind the whining. That place was a train wreck for like a month solid after the grand opening. But yeah, that Airport Express is epic win.
