I know EXACTLY what you’re saying about the “surrealness”! I was caught in the middle when I was on the bus. I picked up on that fact that something major was going on and saw the people that “knew.” And you’re right about the people that didn’t know. They were like “dee dee doodee doo.” That part and the part at my friends house seems really “dreamy.”

i was just getting ready for work, and was watching the today show when the first plane it. i was in milwaukee at the time too (i am now in california). well, as it settled in…i jumped on the bus to my downtown work location. on the bus i found myself surrounded by other young professionals also making their way to work. what really was weird to me…was you could tell who knew what was going on and who didn’t. the people who had seen the events early all just kind of looked at each other with a dead glaze in their eyes. the unaware, seemed to just be carrying on with their morning as usual. needless to say…was a surreal moment at the hands of humanity.

I was teaching. One of the other teachers came in my room and said a plane just hit the world trade tower. I turned the TV on in my room and my classes watched most of the day. They thought it was boring. I thought the world as we know it has changed. It was a very sad day for the world. I don’t think our government was involved in it–I think there are enough pissed off people in the world offended by the way we spread our culture. Fundamentalism is on the rise, and just like Christian fundamentalists will kill abortion doctors, muslim fundamentalists feel violated by our culture and felt then needed to take a stand against infidel.
