Mashup: The Davos Question
January 29th, 2008 § Leave a Comment
The Youtube folks made a video “mashup” of some of the answers people gave to the Davos question. I pop up in there twice.
Here’s more about the Davos Question from the Google blog if you don’t know what it is. [The Davos Question]
Here’s the video (it’s currently featured on Youtube’s main page.)
Busy Like A Bee

[I was featured on Youtube yesterday.] That =ed a lot of busyness. School starts tomorrow… more busyness… Where did I leave off… Ah yes… The presentation…
This shit went REALLY well. There must have been 30 or more people there and they responded to what I had to say very well. They asked a lot of questions and were very interested in what I had to say. It was suppose to be 30 minutes and it went on for over an hour and a half. I even got invited to do another talk at another place. OH and I have a meeting this morning with some people that I met there. Good times…
I have some things planned for my blog and websites and hopefully I’ll be able to implement them soon. I think one of the reasons I’m not blogging much is because I know I want to change things soon.
Anyhow, what motivated met to post today is a comic someone made about me. I LOLed.

Busy Times – I’m Giving a Presentation Tomorrow
January 8th, 2008 § 4 Comments
I have a lot of things going on right now, but I know I’ll eventually get back to regular blog posting. There’s something I like about writing about shit. Lately though, I’ve been posting so many videos on Youtube that I haven’t had anything left to write about… actually, I probably do have stuff to write about. It’s a lack of time thing.
I’m going to post my latest video here, because it serves as an good update. I’m also going to post the information about my presentation here.

Just a quick update to provide the remaining details for next week’s meeting. Our featured presenter will be Casey Payne who is a perfect fit for our follow up on New Media. Casey has his own channel on YouTube. His videos have become popular to a point that, with the number of subscribers and the amount of feedback he receives, he has been accepted by YouTube into their partner program. In his own words, Casey’s goal in publishing his videos is to “put Milwaukee back on the map.” He plans to do so by showcasing more about what’s going on in the city.
For a number of reasons (discussed more next week) Casey believes that the user generated content model will play a larger role in what people are watching on TV. (Remember talking about Current TV in November? See www.current.com). He’s dead on. And that will have an impact on what we all do.
Casey’s style is definitely unique. What strikes me is the authenticity and creativity of his personality. In several of his videos he is addressing an issue indirectly to make you think more about it. Really cool. He’ll share more about his vision for his channel (and career) and hopes to get feedback from you on how to develop what he’s doing into a brand that will not only raise the perception of creativity in the city, but also help him continue to do what he loves.
