The Final Results from Thailand

This one’s going to be a quick one too, but I thought I’d let you guys know what’s poppin’.
No Gi was a blast. My weight division only had 2 people (three including myself) and I got to fight both of them. I submitted them both (will, maybe right more about the matches later if I remember them still.) That was one gold.
The open weight class was excellent. I got three matches in before the final and 2 of the guys were close to my size (the other guy was quite small.) Those three matches all ended in submissions (damn, that’s fucking 5 subs
.)
The final was a beautiful final (hopefully Nicolai will get video online.) I got to fight a guy with VERY limited BJJ experience, but was only 3 years ago an NCAA All-American wrestler or something. No “taiji” throws this match.
I decided to go against better judgment and go head to head with him standing up. That was mucho fun. I went for a few “flying” submissions, got him in my guard once, even went for some take-downs. I think everyone enjoyed the match.
We ended up going into sudden death because of an even score. Unfortunately I had dis(and re)located my shoulder on one of my flying moves. Sudden death would be ended with the first to score style.
There I was one armed vs. NCAA wrestler. I’m sure you can guess how it went. I slapped his head a few times, but he got the take down. That was tons of fun (shoulder is still hurting now.)
So I got 1 gold and 1 silver today for a total of 3 golds, one silver. Not too bad. I was also happy to hear some people say they thought I was ready to be advanced (do I smell something purple?
.)
There was this one crazy fight where Nicolai did some crazy stomach crush thing and made a dude throw up… That was wild. Pedro competed in the elite absolute. That was fun to watch.
Time to go eat. See yall when I get back (over some beers I hope.)
Congratulations! Sounds like you had a good time. Looking forward to the video.
HE MADE SOMEONE THROW UP?! That’s so badass. Congrats on the medals, though. Looking forward to that video.
So did that guy puke all over the floor or something? Seems that would be kinda annoying for the next fighters- lol.
It was a pleasure meeting you and rolling with you. Here is video of the match for your viewing enjoyment. Congratulations again on your wins!
