New Beginnings

Rising from the ashes of a life he once knew, a new kid is born…

New Kid on the Block

I can’t say much, but I can say that real life is some interesting ass shit.  This is what I looked like last week.

Blin Bling

I have no idea how I’m going to look next week, but my guess is it will involve a large smile on my face and a [台啤] in my lap (freezing my balls.)

More Videos from Thailand Plus… JACKPOT!

March 29th, 2007 § 3 Comments

I still haven’t uploaded any of the videos I have, but here are a couple more.

First, here’s a faster paced match (so mom can see that there are different kinds of matches.)

[Casey Payne (blue wifebeater) vs John Jones]

And here’s another “slow” paced match. The reason the action looks slow is because it’s being watched with an untrained eye. The trained eye will see some mistakes (made by me and my opponent) will see some reverses and stuff like that. The untrained eye will see 2 guys grabbing eah other for 5 minutes.

[Casey Payne v Mark Simmerman]

JACKPOT!

Remember the match I was talking about with a dude (The Geeza) making another dude upchuck? Here it is :D

[Geezamissions #36 - The Jackpot]

I’m Still Alive!

OK, sorry to disappear like that. I’m having… one of those weeks. Something you’ll get to read about in about 6 months or so :D

I still haven’t done anything with the Thailand competition movies… but Joel (a competitor in Thailand) was kind enough to upload one of the matches we had together. You can see that here: [Joel vs. miltownkid]

Thank Joel!

I offer as a sacrifice to the blogging god Amorous Updatus this never before seen photo of what my birthday party would have maybe might looked like had there been strippers there. This, of course, is a staged photo of what that event WOULD have looked like, because, obviously, I would have never done something like that at one of MY birthday parties. Oh no. That would be… like against the LAW or something. And I TOTALLY don’t break laws and things like that. Actually… I’m not even sure if the guy in that photo is me.

The Final Results from Thailand

March 18th, 2007 § 5 Comments

This one’s going to be a quick one too, but I thought I’d let you guys know what’s poppin’.

No Gi was a blast. My weight division only had 2 people (three including myself) and I got to fight both of them. I submitted them both (will, maybe right more about the matches later if I remember them still.) That was one gold.

The open weight class was excellent. I got three matches in before the final and 2 of the guys were close to my size (the other guy was quite small.) Those three matches all ended in submissions (damn, that’s fucking 5 subs :D .)

The final was a beautiful final (hopefully Nicolai will get video online.) I got to fight a guy with VERY limited BJJ experience, but was only 3 years ago an NCAA All-American wrestler or something. No “taiji” throws this match.

I decided to go against better judgment and go head to head with him standing up. That was mucho fun. I went for a few “flying” submissions, got him in my guard once, even went for some take-downs. I think everyone enjoyed the match.

We ended up going into sudden death because of an even score. Unfortunately I had dis(and re)located my shoulder on one of my flying moves. Sudden death would be ended with the first to score style.

There I was one armed vs. NCAA wrestler. I’m sure you can guess how it went. I slapped his head a few times, but he got the take down. That was tons of fun (shoulder is still hurting now.)

So I got 1 gold and 1 silver today for a total of 3 golds, one silver. Not too bad. I was also happy to hear some people say they thought I was ready to be advanced (do I smell something purple? :) .)

There was this one crazy fight where Nicolai did some crazy stomach crush thing and made a dude throw up… That was wild. Pedro competed in the elite absolute. That was fun to watch.

Time to go eat. See yall when I get back (over some beers I hope.) :D

Quick Update From Thailand

March 17th, 2007 § 3 Comments

I won 2 golds today. My weight and the open. I’ll write about the matches more later perhaps, right now I’m tired and am about to go get massage (a real one sickos ;) .)

I also got to meet Pedro today, the black belt that’s coming to Taiwan next month. After everything was done, he wanted to roll a bit, so I suited up and rolled with him (that =ed me getting choked out twice.) I also watched him roll with a brown belt (which =ed a brown belt getting choked out twice.) That was really fun. He style was slow and controlled (as a black belt’s should be I suppose.) Now my record for rolling with black belts is 0-8 :D .

After rolling with Pedro, him, wife and I walked to a big mall for a bite to eat. I talked with him the whole walk there and while we ate. He’s a really cool laid back dude. I’m looking forward to him getting over to Taiwan. (Note: Pedro’s Blog is the Learn BJJ blog listed on the side.)

OK, time for the massge. PEACE!!

Where Am I?
