Welcome to the World of Blog Robonutz
November 9th, 2006 § 1 Comment
My homeboy from the mean streets of Miltown, has finally joined the ranks. I set him up with a website some time ago, but that didn’t go very far. It ws just a static HTML site that almost never got updated. I finally conviced him to get a blog by building one and posting a picture of a dog humping a cat (he got rid of that already, see my old post about it for the pic.)
You can see his blog by going to http://www.robonutz.com. I can already tell it’s going to be good just from those first few posts.
I know I was going to do an update about the tournament, but I didn’t have the time to write the post I want to write. I’m going to HK early tomorrow morning for a BJJ tournament so I’ll take time to do the write up on the plane and stuff.
On Tuesday this week I went to visit Mark (Mah Kuh.) I posted about him once after I phone call I had with him (see that post here, there’s picture.) Mark has suffered a serious head injury from a scooter accident which has left him in a hospital bed with limited control over his body.
After the visit, I realized that doing physical therapy is something that I really enjoy doing. It’s what I originally went to school for (though I stopped after 1 year) and it’s what my passion has always surrounded (sports and all that.) I’m going to try to make a weekly visit to see him and exercise the limbs he has some control over.
I’ll try my best to post the remaining footage of the Taiji competion before I start the BJJ one. I don’t want to have a backlog of stories and stuff to post
.
Update From the Weekend
November 6th, 2006 § 7 Comments
I’m too tired to do a whole write up on the pushhands tournament, but I’ll say I got second in the moving step and something like 6th in fixed step. I’m confident that I’ll take gold at the next event (in two years.) I’ll do a big write up on that tomorrow (with pictures, more videos, and some stories.)
I did get one more video up last night. This is of this really pimp ass pushhands player. I met him when I first arrived 4 years ago in the park. He’s big, but he has mad soft power (taiji power.) He use to be a judo player.
Also on Sunday the guys from "Art of War Fighting Championship" stopped by the club. They’re really cool guys and one of them taught us some technical shit yesterday and will teach class tonight as well. I was dead dog tired for class yesterday. I had them rush and give me my trophy, then I jetted straight of to BJJ practice
. They also might be able to hook me up with an MMA fight in China sometime down the line. emKid might be going pro soon
.
Check out their site here: [MMA China.com]
As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one weekend, the Taiwan beer commercial I was in started showing this past Friday. I’m pretty sure you won’t have any trouble spotting me in it (my wife didn’t, she called laughing.) The commercial is so appropiate for me, because I down Taiwan Beers every week. yeah yeah YEAH!! (but just once a week
)
Just another day in the life of a DNP (digital ninja pimp) in Asia.
Sweetness. Just saw the freeze frame of the beer commercial and there I am in the middle.
So Far So Good

I’ve had 2 fixed step matches and 3 moving step matches and have won them all so far. I’m wicked tired right now and will be going to sleep immediately after posting this. The competition has been wicked fun and I’m looking forward to tomorrow. Here’s a quick clip I threw together. Keep wishing me luck

Competition Time

My site was down last night, so I didn’t get a chance to post about what a pack of Oreos does to me (and probably everyone.) I never really noticed the effect before, but I had a pack to myself during my break yesterday. Then I flipped out and Hong Kong Fooied these 2 kids that were in the hallway for like 20 minutes. Then I almost fell asleep teaching my next class (I hope my boss isn’t a frequent reader, he was on vacation yesterday
.)
I made note of that, and will be a lot more carefull with sweets, if not totally nixing them from my diet. I’ll hit the dried fruits or something next time I want something sweet.
After I submit this post I’m off to the Taichi competition. Wish me luck, I’m commited to posting back talking about GOLD!
