Time to kick it up a notch…

BAM! (was going to title it “miltownchef”)
I kicked things up a notch on two different fronts over the past 2 days. Let’s start with yesterday.
Yesterday I did something that (I’m not proud to say) I haven’t done in over a year… cook. I’m not even sure making just-add-water pancakes counts as cooking, but it think it’s more than close enough for me.
Flip it

This also gave us a chance to put the Peach Honey we bought in Hualian to use, and let me tell you. It was F**KTASTIK!!
Part of a Healthy Breakfast

So now I’m officially declaring Sunday’s as miltownchef days. Omelets are up for next week.
That takes cares of notch #1 on to #2. After work and playing a bunch of Tekken today I made my way to Taida University to figure out my application procedure. I got all the info from all the people so now I’m making some headway into starting school (yay!) I guess notch #2 is a precursor notch kick.
Other things… I’ve reconciled with my principle so now I plan on hanging out there. Even, though I’m upset with things (and stuff) my actual working situation is really nice, plus the school is so close to the house and I like it that way. I put the TPR stuff I learned over the weekend to work in class today and, it worked. There’s nothing magical about it, but it’s definitely something worth keeping in the back of the mind. Actually, it’s something I did before in the past, but forgot about… The past weekend’s meeting was a nice reminder.
I’ll wrap this one up with a picture of Eric, for no particular reason (but it was shot today).

Shots that could have been…

Today was fantasmic. I had an excellent bike ride. Met some excellent people. And did some excellent things.
It’s late and I should sleep, but here we go…
I was a bad parent and neglected my bike all through the winter, so now it has these little rust spots all over. After wiping it all down, I was ready to go, but ARG! no air. I locomoted through the neighborhood until I happened upon a little scooter shop. The LaoBan (boss) was a really nice guy. After getting directed to the pump I asked for a pressure gauge and he was nice enough to just give me one. I realized the chain was looking a tad rusted as well and he let me help myself to the oil. After I was pumped and oiled I was ready to go. What followed was an adventure along river paths, book reading by some rivers, games, and an eventual reentry to home base.
The reentry was really just a pit stop because I needed to get ready to make my way over to YingGe for the first meeting of “Teacher Club”. I’d tell you about it, but the first rule of Teacher Club is we don’t talk about… Ok, sorry about that (though I think that might be a good first rule).
Just like in the movie Fight Club, Teacher Club’s first meeting was of only two people (wait, maybe I don’t want it to be like the movie, cause that would mean I’ve been talking to myself for the last 3 hours :O). Some people on Forumosa hope to create a little network of teachers sharing ideas and stuff. What it boils down to is teachers who like teaching and want to get better will get together and brainstorm on ways to make each other better. I should turn out real good. If you want to read more about that I direct you to the Forumosa thread [CLICK HERE].
I learned some cool “new” ideas and plans on testing some out in class next week. Should work out nice. Afterward we went for a sub and beer at a place called… I can’t remember the name, but it was a Belgium place run by thee coolest Belgian I’ve ever met. The I hopped on a bus to BanQiao MRT station and cabbed home. A nice day.
This photos I wanted to take, but didn’t consisted of some breakers in the train station at YingGe, this kid riding a man powered scooter that looked like a thy master and some other misc. stuff. It’s time for me to sleep.

Beer Tastes Good
April 8th, 2005 § Leave a Comment
Something I never thought I’d say. Last week I started having a beer with lunch everyday and I’m really liking it. I’m not sure how it happened, but beer has magically started to taste good O.O. I guess that’s one of those things that happens when you grow up or something. Next thing you know I’ll be posting about how good LaCroix is (my mom always used to drink that stuff).
Well, I think I should be all rested up and recovered after the weekend and back to my daily action packed picture filled posts. I’m going to hit you with a little slice of all the pics that got taken between now and when my ma first arrived. Hope you enjoy. When I get more time I’ll be putting together a proper photo page with pics of family, friends, people, what pinyin and (of course) me. My ma brought me back a little booty of old pics that should be nice to have scanned in.
My touch typing skills have improved ten-fold over the last couple of weeks. There was about a five day stretch when I took practice really serious and the improvements were almost instant. Now I can understand why so many people have long winded blogs. If you can type 65+ WPM (words per minute) it’s probably really easy to get carried away.
One other note worthy thing for the week is I got a membership to one of the comic stores close to the house so I could have something fun to read everyday to keep my Chinese study fresh. I’ll have to get a picture of what one of these places look like for yall. Someone at the store recommended I start reading Doraemon I’m going to finish up book one and get book 2 today. It’s a pretty funny series and not too hard to read for a high-karate beginner like myself.
I best stop typing and gets to the photos today. I have many and what you’ll see is just a glimpse.
I Bet One of These Would Go Good With a McAfika

I took this picture in a night market semi-close to the Taipei 101.
The miltownfoot
(aka Look at Me Ma, I’m on Top of the World)

This was taking from the side of the road on a little mountain tour we took from the Grand Formosa. This spot was cool. The clouds were swirlin’ around and shit. Real pretty.
Little Bit o’ Hot, Little Bit o’ Cold

On the left you see a cold river. On the right, a hot spring.
The miltownme

The Worst “Pinyin” EVER!!!

That’s all that needs to be said. I think (hope) it’s safe to say this is a typo.
How Angry B*****s Keep Their Teeth Clean

This tooth paste actually tastes pretty good, but for some reason after I was done brushing my teeth I felt the need to ice grill every one I saw.
[Note: salty = upset, pissed; ice grill = lookin' all mean and shit]
Shot Outside the Grand Formosa

The miltownmom

and SuperDave Representin’!!

Notice that the statue in the mom pic is the same one in the one right above that one (it’s in the upper right hand corner and pretty small).
Looking at my photos reminds me that I haven’t put up a picture of after (from the messy computer room before). I’ll probably get that up tomorrow. When I do get a photo gallery up I’ll probably post less pictures here and just direct you to the photo gallery when applicable.
Well, that should do for today. It’s was nice “seeing” you again.
Just Been Busy

I’ll been setting up various softwares I’m going to be using on different websites of mines of the last couple of days. I’ve also been getting my rhythm back from my mom visiting.
I’m going to try to get some photos from my trip and the last week or so up tomorrow. I’m tired and cranky right now. I’m going to play some Tekken. That’ll put a
on my face.
For you Taiwan readers, one of the things I’ve been working on is a calender for Forumosa.com. You can get a sneak peak of it at: http://events.taipeitimes.org. My adventures with Linux are going well. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be using a lot more Linux than Windows in the not-to-distant future.
OK. Yall have a good one.

Because I’m too lazy to put together a “proper” blog right now I give you the above link as a peace offering. This is also a direct link to my hang out on the WWW.
Today I’ve been busy working on something for my soon-to-be released hosting site, so I’m a little tired of being in front of the computer. This Mc Afrika would probably go good together with a “Niger Seed” Donut (picture coming soon, only available in Taiwan). Hopefully my buddy adoa will have it up on his blog soon.
Frost showed me a preview to part 2 of his mini me series. It should be good.
Peace out (and sour kraut)
