Work Work Work

Grandma emailed me today. That was pretty cool cause I don’t hear from her much. Today I worked on my homepage (www.miltownkid.com) and got the script for automating account sign-up for hosting fully automated.
I posting this through a Linux live CD (Mepis) and it’s pretty f**king slick. I think you’ll b hearing more about this distro in the future. I looks like I’ll be replacing Windows sooner than I thought.
That’s about it.

Hard at Work

I been a real busy bee as of late. Today I was putting the finishing touches on the webcalendar for Forumosa.com. You can see that here (www.forumosa.com.tw). I also figured out how to get the automated account setup thing for my hosting services to work. Basically that means that if someone wanted hosting from me they could get it all setup automatically without me lifting a finger. That took a little while to figure out.
Frost substituted for someone at school today so we kicked it for a while after school. Right after school we went to a PHS retail store (like Sprint of something) so I could see what kind of plans they had. After struggling with English for a while I switched over to Mandarin to find out about the plans and the lady told me “Only Taiwanese and Japanese can get PHS phones, not foreigners”
. Well, long story short is I feel another VS. (see right sidebar) coming on. I did send off an email already, but I’m too tired to do a silly pose or something.
After that we had some lunch and ran into Horse (my Taiwanese buddy that lives close to the house, ma, remember that guy that said I was talking to loud in the alley). Horse ended up treating us to lunch so I treated him (and Frost) to a few games of pool. He’s a younger chap (but older than me) so he teaches me how to say all that cool stuff I’ve never bothered learning how to say in Mandarin (like amphetamines). After Frost and I got back to the crib, we rocked out a little Tekken and it was time for him to go, then I just went nuts on computer stuff.
Let me check my camera for new pictures, can’t be too lazy…
OK, first up is:
501 (pronounced five oh one) and his 501 pairs of shoes

To me, that’s a lot of shoes. He has more in the apartment.
Baby Godzilla

Brian spotted this dude on the bike path during our Saturday morning outing. Taipei’s gonna be in trouble if this little dude ends up crawlin’ into that toxic ass river. It’ll be Tokyo all over again.
They’re Everywhere!

Queer Eye has even attacked my favorite video game. Is there no end to their metrosexual ways!!!
OK, I’ve had enough of the computer for now.

Checked out a Brazilian Jujitsu school today. I checked this school out once before, but they changed locations last week so I went to see the new space. I didn’t think I’d do anything, but I brought some pants and a spare shirt just in case. The new space was in a community center and was very spacious. Much better suited than the space he was in before.
After Chatting with Andy for a while he asked me if I wanted to jump on the mat. Sure! Should be fun.
Since I’ve never really done Jujitsu before (except for once at PJ’s place) I couldn’t do much but be defensive. It was still a good time. I think I did a good job squigglin’ away and such, but I ended up tappin’ out twice. When I was all done I huffed and puffed for a good 45 minutes afterward. I was nice a drained. Maybe I’ll join up with them guys.
Other then that it was game club, Chinese study and a trip to Costco. I also saw someone today I haven’t seen for a while, it was pretty funny. Not much else to report.
I enjoyed making that “song” so much I might try to make a new one every week, then maybe in about 30 weeks I’ll have enough material to “release” a CD
.
OK, night.

Just Chillin’

I’ll probably be back to updating things on a regular basis once I’m done messing around with a few things I’m doing (trying out new software, reading some books, etc.). After this weekend my www.miltownkid.com site should have a different look to it and I’ll be updating it more often. Maybe I’ll even get my photo page crackin’.
While typing I decided to see what pictures I had on my camera and I forgot about this one I took last night. I saw this on my way to the Forumosa Happy Hour.
Taibei (Taipei) 101 Night Shot

This is a pretty slick thing to do with the 101. Might as well put all those empty offices to use somehow. I’ll share with you the first analogy that came to mind when I saw it.
“It’s like Taipei tattooed it’s name on it’s **** and it glows in the dark.”
How cool is that?
Now in order to balance out some the cool I’ll give you a picture of some suck. At the HH last night I talked with someone that’s try to raise people’s awareness of animal rights here. Whilst talking he told about some people I can call when I see maltreated animals. He said just get a picture for evidence. Well, there’s one I’ve seen for a while. During lunch today I took a picture.
Mucho Sucko, Now There are 2 Dogs in There

The first few times I saw this there was only one dog in there, now they’ve added another little puppy. Maybe I’ll go ask about that dog before I do anything, but my gut tells me it’s just a suck situation.
Someone asked me to record an audio file off-line for them and in the process of doing so I finally ended up installing Audacity (website). I’ve only messed with it for about 15, but I’ve already produced (is that correct term?) my first track. I felt the need to shared it with someone and you are the unlucky soul (sorry).
(The link to download miltronkid’s first track Right click and choose Save as.. 350k)
I guess you can just click the link if you have QuickTime or something else installed. Try it!

Well, got the room back to an organized state. Also got the final things together for applying for school. I’ll need to get over to a hospital now to get me a check-up.
Also installed a little program called Website Baker today. You’ll be seeing some changes on my main site real soon. Changes for the better I hope.
Just thought I’d say a little something something before I hit the hey stack.
